This is my must haves for the month, not really a list of things that are on trend. However, I think all this stuff is pretty cool, so you might find yourself needing it as well.
I will be traveling to Iceland at the end of the month, so I have already went a little over board on buying things like, new Sorels, a couple Patagonia Retools, and a brand new suit case. I am looking forward to sharing my Journey with you! You can keep up with me on Instagram here!
The list is narrowed down to 5 specific items I’ll need before I hit the ….skys.
ONE: New Balances
I want these retro looking 696’s. They also come in a great Tan color, but I’m opting for the grey and blue tones. These will be great with a pair of destroyed jeans or some comfy sweats. I will be calling them my “airport shoes.” I’ve just ordered them from Urban Outfitters here. About 12 years ago, I had the all navys, the all tans, and the all blacks. Back then, my tennis shoe game was on point. Just like most things late 90s an early 2000s, I’m glad they are back.
TWO: Dark maroon and magenta nails
I’m acting like this is a fall must have for me, but really, this is a year around thing for me. I like dark shades on my nails. I love black and blood red and deep purple. Right now, I’m particularly found of this O P I shade, Casino Royale.
THREE: Duster length sweater
I found this awesome one at Shopbop.com. This is the perfect layer for a casual or dressed up outfit. It is like a coat….but its a sweater! It doesn’t get any better. You get the warmth with out all that extra bulk, and it looks bad ass. It will definitely elongate the body and feels so comfy.
FOUR: Oversized light pink sweater
This For Love and Lemons at Nordstrom one has the bell sleeves that fall over your hands look. I love that. I will match this with my unraveled skinny jeans and a pair of light pink pumps. Add a chocker, a great satchel and some crazy hair and call it a look! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so I wear pink in support of that. I wear pink to raise awareness but make sure you do your part to donate or help out in any way. Later this month I will have a feature on Fit for the Cure. A Wacoal bra fitting event that pairs with the Susan G. Komen foundation.
Five: Velvet boots
I didn’t want to like it, but I do. I gotta get some crushed velvet. I saw a look on the main page for Steve Madden where I found these boots, that made me fall in love. A lighter color slip dress and same color bomber with these bad boys. Its a statement piece with a simple outfit choice. So yes, I’ll buy into this trend. I’d wear one piece a velvet at a time. If it wasn’t the shoes, maybe I would get the velvet slip dress and layer it with a silk kimono and knee high boots.
Hope you enjoyed the picks for October. Follow my blog below to see how they turn up in my wardrobe, or on Instagram here!
